DevOps Engineer

Infrastructure Setup and Configuration
o Set up on-premise infrastructure from scratch using Tanzu VMware.
o Provision virtual machines, configure system resources, and network settings.
o Install and configure operating systems to meet infrastructure requirements.
2. OS Installation and Hardening
o Install and configure operating systems (Linux/Windows) on virtual machines.
o Perform OS hardening to align with industry security benchmarks (e.g., CIS
Benchmarks).
o Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory
standards.
3. Kubernetes Deployment and Management
o Set up and manage Kubernetes clusters on Tanzu VMware.
o Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications on Kubernetes.
o Implement patching and updates for Kubernetes environments to ensure
security and stability.
4. Deployment Management
o Manage application and system deployments using Nexus and Harbor
repositories.
o Maintain version control and artifact management processes.
o Automate deployment workflows for consistent and efficient rollouts.
5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting
o Implement and manage monitoring systems for infrastructure, Kubernetes
clusters, and
applications.

Diagnose and resolve issues related to OS, Kubernetes, applications, and
infrastructure in a
timely manner.
o Optimize system performance and resource utilization.
6. Patch and Update Management
o Plan and implement patching for operating systems and Kubernetes
environments.
o Validate patches and updates to ensure minimal downtime and maximum
security.
7. Collaboration with Teams
o Work closely with infrastructure, network, and storage teams for provisioning
and
optimization.
o Collaborate with development teams to align infrastructure with application
requirements.
8. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
o Document all configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps for future
reference.
o Share knowledge with team members through training sessions and written
guides.
9. Security and Compliance
o Implement security measures for OS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure.
o Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry
standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience of 2+ years in managing on-premise infrastructure with Tanzu
VMware.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes deployment and management in on-
premise environments.
• Expertise in operating system installation and hardening.
• Proficiency in using Nexus and Harbor repositories for artifact and deployment
management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in on-premise and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
• Familiarity with security standards like CIS Benchmarks and Kubernetes
RBAC.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or
Nagios.
• Certifications in Kubernetes (e.g., CKA) or VMware (e.g., VMware Certified
Professional).
• Knowledge of secure repository management and integration.
