Job Description:
1. Data Modeling and Transformation:
o Build and optimize data models using Power BI’s data modeling tools.
o Use Power Query Editor to clean, transform, and structure data.
o Implement DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) calculations for complex data manipulations.
2. Report and Dashboard Development:
o Design and develop visually appealing reports and dashboards that communicate insights effectively.
o Create interactive visualizations like bar charts, line charts, KPIs, gauges, and more.
o Use Power BI Service to publish reports and set up dashboards for end-user access.
3. Data Integration and Connectivity:
o Connect Power BI to various data sources, such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud data sources.
o Set up and manage data refresh schedules and gateways for timely data updates.
o Use APIs and Power BI’s REST API for custom data integrations, as required.
4. Performance Optimization:
o Optimize reports and dashboards to ensure high performance and responsiveness.
o Improve data model efficiency by applying best practices in data loading, transformations, and DAX calculations.
5. Security and Access Control:
o Implement row-level security (RLS) to control access to data based on user roles.
o Configure data permissions and access settings in Power BI Service.
6. Collaboration and End-User Training:
o Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and design relevant visuals.
o Provide training and documentation to end users to ensure proper usage and interpretation of reports.
