Backend Automation Test Engineer – API Automation (Java / Rest Assured)

Years of Experience 2+ years of experience in backend API automation (mandatory).

 Develop and maintain API automation scripts using Java + Rest Assured.
 Validate REST API responses, schemas, and system-level integrations.
 Work with API tools such as Postman, Swagger, and version control (Git).
 Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and defect analysis.
 Perform data validation using Cassandra / SQL where required.
 Collaborate with backend teams, QA leads, and DevOps to triage issues.
 Support integration of automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Skills

 Strong experience in Java, Rest Assured, and API automation frameworks.
 Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and debugging techniques.
 Hands-on with TestNG/JUnit, Maven, Git, and Postman.
 Basic knowledge of databases (Cassandra or SQL).
 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
